Texas License to Carry

Service Description

This course provides the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) required classroom training and firearm qualification students need in order to obtain a Texas License to Carry a Handgun (LTC). This course will include: • Laws that relate to weapons and to the use of deadly force. • Handgun use and safety – use of restraint holsters properly secure concealed and openly carried handguns. • Non-Violent dispute resolution. • Proper storage practices for handguns – emphasis on eliminating accidental injury to a child. • Written examination on your comprehension of the material. • Live fire proficiency demonstration. Basic proficiency with a handgun is a prerequisite for this course. This course is not intended to train students on how to properly handle a handgun. The qualification test portion of the course is required by the State of Texas in order to demonstrate your ability to safely and properly handle and shoot a handgun.
